November 2024
On November 2nd, 2024 Teams 359B, 3590B, and 3590C showed up to Pearl City High prepared for action!
INTENSE MATCHES
The Pearl City High School event brought together 24 teams from across the island, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and collaboration. Participants were eager to demonstrate their abilities and engage in friendly competition. The energy in the venue was palpable as teams pushed themselves on the skills and competition fields—the collective enthusiasm made for an unforgettable experience that will be cherished by all who attended. Meanwhile, our fellow teammates on 359 were in California for Ventura. It was encouraging to know we had them cheering us on!
ALLIANCE SELECTION
Many friendships and connections were made during this tournament. A memorable moment of camaraderie was when another team was having trouble coming up with match strategies, someone from our team helped them come up with some that would work for their robot. We're glad we were able to help!
TEAM ARRIVAL AND PREPARATION
Teams 359B, 3590B, and 3590C arrived at Pearl City High School, eager to compete! As they set their pits up, teams prepared their robots for the necessary inspection. After each team passed, they fine-tuned their robots' performance and capabilities, putting in last-minute tweaks to ensure everything worked properly. The atmosphere was thrilling, and our young competitors couldn't wait to have their hard work pay off!
TEAM COLLABORATIONS
Qualification matches came to an end, and Alliance selection commenced. In these vital minutes, we will be finding out the alliances that will be moving on into the Elimination rounds. 3590B, ranked 3rd, chose 359B, ranked 8th. Together they were the 3rd seed! 3590C, ranked 9th, chose 4142B, ranked 16th as their partner. They were the 7th seed. Unfortunately, 3590C and 4142B were eliminated in the Semifinals against 359B and 3590B. 359B and 3590B headed on to Finals where they would be going against 96789X and 3685D. Sadly, they lost, but the valuable strategies they learned will help them secure a win in the future!
TOURNAMENT RESULTS AND CELEBRATIONS
As the eventful day drew to a close, Team 3590B secured an impressive 3rd place with a score of 6-0-0 (win-loss-tie). Team 359B closely followed, capturing the 8th spot with a score of 3-2-1, and Team 3590C claimed 9th place, sharing a similar score of 3-2-1. In recognition of 3590C’s creative and effective design, they won the Innovate Award! We are so proud of everyone's accomplishments! Even though we didn't take home the gold, what we took away from this tournament is much more valuable. We made experiences, friends, and memories that we will keep with us for a lifetime.
