WORKSHOPS

Thundering Tanx

In 2017, Chinese Rookie team 6439, Team Tanx, as well as Australian team 3132, Thunder Down Under, visited our facilities. While team 3132 was mainly here for a tour, team 6439 was here for the workshop, similar to the one that we held the previous year for two other rookie Chinese teams.

The team would get an explanation on how to be successful as a FIRST team, experience a bit of the community, and mingle amongst our team members creating strong bonds. That same week, the Hawaii Regional took place and team 6439 attained the highest seed as a rookie team as well as taking home the Rookie Inspiration Award.

Tournament Planning

Our NS VEX tournament was such a massive success, it got the attention of other event coordinators across the island and neighboring islands. So much so that they wanted to learn how we were able to be so successful in our event planning. Led by our Tournament Coordinator Cody Miyataki, he went through everything from initial planning phases, getting volunteers, coordinating software, media and AV, to setup and teardown.

We are greatful to give back to the community with this information to help make our fellow VEX tournaments be the best they can be.
