TEAM HISTORY
Humble Beginnings
The year is 1999, The small school of Waialua High & Intermediate School is about to change forever.
After learning about the FIRST Robotics Competition, Lead Mentor, Glenn Lee established the first FRC team in the State of Hawaii, Team 359, The Hawaiian Kids. Starting with next to nothing, Team 359 worked out of a Storage Room to create their first ever robot and went on to compete in their first Regional, the Silicon Valley Regional in San Jose California becoming the Regional Finalist as well as taking home the Team Spirit Award.
Nowadays, Team 359 has expanded from that small storage room, to two Robotic centered buildings full of top of the line equipment, resources, and dedicated mentors to further grow the program.
We are immensely grateful for the hundreds of dedicated students and mentors who have made our journey as a FIRST Robotics program possible. The awards we have received are a testament to their commitment and determination. It is incredible to see how far we have come in the last 26 years. Imua Waialua!
