Day 37

We’re in the final week of Build Season! With a break on Sunday for the Super Bowl, we returned on Monday to continue working on the robots. The Construction team began assembling spare mechanisms. They cut and assembled pieces to create this season’s bumper. The Control Systems team practiced driving the robot, writing the competition code, and running/testing the autonomous programs to ensure they met quality standards. Meanwhile, the Business, Media, and Documentation team collaborated with remote mentors to operate the FIRST Impact Exchange. Also reviewing the team magazine and preparing it for bulk printing. Remaining dedicated to our mission, we continue to work diligently and persist until the end of the build season.

Day 38

With less than a week left, we are preparing our robot and making sure to document the whole process to prepare for our Build Season Robot Reveal! The Construction team has continued to work on machining parts and repairing the practice bot. Control Systems worked with documentation to set up an area for robot photos along with adjusting their code. Finally, Business, Media and Documentation students worked on photos for the robot, videos to prepare for the Robot Reveal, FIA practice with their online mentor, and final adjustments to the magazine.

Day 39

Halfway through Week 6 and we are continuing to prepare to ship the robot and work on adjustments to code and spare parts. Construction students continue to work with Control Systems to brainstorm ideas on how to improve the robot and machining parts. The Control System students work on wiring and improve our robot code. The Business, Media, and Documentation students worked on FIA practice and sent out the magazine to be printed. Students are now focusing on FIA and preparing everything for the Canadian Pacific Regional!

Day 40

On Day 40, students worked on continuing on making progress. Construction students continued working on machining spare parts and working with Control Systems. The Control System students not only worked with Construction but also continued wiring the robot and crimping wires. Business, Media, and Documentation students are focusing on FIA presentations and preparing the Robot Reveal that will be posted on our YouTube channel.

Day 41

We cannot believe that it is the end of week 6! This build season has had its fair share of success and challenges, but we are so grateful for the many learning experiences and opportunities that come with it. Construction students worked on fixing the drive base of our practice robot. Control systems continued working on different autonomous codes and improved robot functions. Business, Media, and Documentation worked on website updates, safety pamphlets, and the robot reveal that will be posted soon!

Day 42

As build season draws to a close, our team held our annual Open House event. Families and guests gathered as students proudly displayed the various subsystems, offering a glimpse into the inner workings of Team 359. After informative tours, attendees were escorted back to the cafeteria where we proudly unveiled our robot and demonstrated its capabilities. The event concluded with our team photoshoot, making sure to shaka and smile!
