Check out our Week Five recap on Youtube!
Day 30:
The start of Week 5, and our determination continues to grow! The Control Systems added more cameras to the robot, tested the alignment, worked on the scoring, and ended the day practicing with the robot. The Construction team got their hands dirty, they polished, sanded, and powder coated the competition robot parts using the various machines in our workshop. The Business, Media, and Documentation team started the day with taking more photos and videos, filmed the interviews, and began to finish and finalize the Week 3 Recap Video. Coming to the end of the day, we celebrate with a fresh bunch of food and we can’t wait for what Week 5 will bring us!
Day 31:
Starting Day 31, our team worked hard today! The Control systems started the day practicing the alignment, scoring, and their driving capabilities. Meanwhile, our veteran students taught the newer students on how to use the path planner to create autos. The Construction team worked on more competition robot parts. They sand blasted, water cutted, and CADed the parts, while also teaching newer students how to use the different machines. The Business, Media, and Documentation team started the day practicing their FIRST Impact Award Presentations, and ended their day by documenting all the photos and clips. The day comes to an eventual end, and we are determined to only work harder!
Day 32:
It’s already Day 32 and we are pumped up for the week! The Control Systems continued coding, wiring, ethernet crimping, and fixing the robot problems in the system. In the end, they continued to practice with the robot, the alignment, auto pathing, and the driving. The Construction team worked on the competition robot parts. They cut with the fab light, water jetted, drill pressed, polished, powder coated, and dried the parts. The Business, Media, and Documentation team continued to look over clips and started to pick clips for the Week 5 Recap Video, and took more photos and video clips. We’re so far into the Build Season, and we’re ready for more challenges that face us!
Day 33:
We’re halfway there and we’re looking good now! The Control Systems started the day teaching newer students on how to set up the limelight camera for the robot, while also speeding up set points, running autos, practicing with the robot, and scoring. The Construction team got their hands dirty and brains flowing, making parts, cutting wood for the bumpers, sanding, powder coating, and drying the competitions robot parts. The Business, Media, and Documentation team started the day practicing the FIRST Impact Award presentation, collected clips, commenced to the production of the Week 5 Recap video, and documented all the photos and videos. We’re wrapping up the day and we can’t wait for what is tomorrow!
Day 34:
Continuing our hard work, the sub teams were speeding up the process! The Control Systems started the day with our Veteran students helping teach the newer students how to make wiring schematics of the practice robot for the Technical Binder, while also running autos, testing parts for the new competition robot for future use, and ended the day practicing with the robot. The Construction team started building the bumpers for the competition robot, making more competition robot parts, sand blasting, powder coating and drying them, and began assembling the competition robot with working parts. The Business, Media, and Documentation team collected clips documented from the day and continued editing the Week 5 Recap Video. With the day coming to an end, all our progress is paying off!
Day 35:
So close to the end of the week, and we can’t wait to show you what we have! The Control Systems started working on a diagram for different wiring of the robot components, started wiring the competition robot, and are making adjustments to the drivetrain on the practice robot. The Construction students continued to make more parts, water jetted, sand blasted, powder coated, dried them, and continued to assemble the main components of the competition robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation team collected more clips from the week, continued to edit the Week 5 Recap Video, and documented every photo and video from the day. The clock is ticking for our team, and we are motivated for the future that awaits us!
Day 36:
The end of Week 5 and Day 36! The Control Systems continued making the diagram of the wiring for the robot components, finalized robot functions, ran autos, did position optimization, and continued the wiring of the competition robot. The Construction team finished up on the bumpers, made more parts by water jetting and laser cutting, and assembled the main competition robot parts. The Business, Media, and Documentation team started the day finalizing the Week 5 Recap Video, recorded the interviews, had a FIRST Impact Award Exchange meeting, while also continued practicing the FIRST Impact Award presentation, and took all the photos and video clips for the day.
