CURYA 2-DAY WORKSHOP
Day One
The first day of this 2-Day Workshop was dedicated to Rookie Team 6179, PhotonBox, as we spent the entire day with them. Once they arrived we took them to our cafeteria for breakfast and to mingle with our team members as well as other students here at Waialua High. After breakfast, we gave them a tour of our facilities introducing them to the various machinery and equipment that we’ve acquired over the years. Later we had the actual workshop portion of the day discussing what it takes to be a successful FIRST team leading to our students taking them to their various classes to experience American high school. To end the day, we took them on a trip around the community to see the sites, taste the foods, and experience the culture.
Team 6179 was the Highest Seeded Rookie at the Hawaii Regional that year.
Day Two
Day Two was dedicated to Rookie team 6227, the Robohovers. We went through much of the same with the previous team, touring the facilities, experiencing the life of an American high school, getting the details on what makes a successful FIRST team, exploring the community and taking in the culture of the North Shore.
At the Hawaii Regional, team 6227 was awarded the Rookie Inspiration Award!
