Week Three
Aloha! Welcome to the Third week of the 2024 CRESCENDO Build Season!
Check out our Week Three recap on Youtube!
Day 16
Happy Birthday to our founder and head mentor, Glenn Lee! We are ready for Week Three and we are not stopping anytime soon! During the sixteenth day, our Construction students were hard at working focusing on machining and assembling more parts. Our Control Systems students were working on code base while younger students continue to work on our other robot. Later Control Systems worked on position measurements for sensors on our practice field. Business, Media, and Documentation students worked on final additions to the magazine such as photos, quotes, and grammar checking each page while younger students focused on photos and videos with Lightroom! We ended the day off celebrating our head mentor, Glenn Lee’s birthday! We are thankful for his dedication and continue motivation to strive through this build season with our team!
Day 17
At the start of day seventeen, our students began by continuing the progress they made from our Sunday before the festivities! Construction students worked on bending and machining parts for the robot while adjusting designs to incorporate surfacing ideas from our students. Control System students practiced with the drive-base and sensor on our practice field by scoring and setting positions and began creating a scouting system for the upcoming tournaments. Business, Media, and Documentation students worked on the Week Two video recap, adding some final adjustments while also taking photos and video of each subsystem working hard! We are excited to be started Week Three and are ready to make more progress toward our goal!
Day 18
In a hive of activity and innovation, our robotics team made significant strides in various domains. The Construction team skillfully advanced the assembly of the robots, tweaking the CAD design to optimize our competition robot’s performance. In Control Systems, new talents were nurtured as students learned to write vision tracking software, while their peers refined the competition robot’s code, ensuring precision and efficiency. Meanwhile, the Business, Media, and Documentation team achieved a milestone, sending our meticulously crafted team magazine to the printers and finalizing the FIRST Impact award essay and summary, eagerly preparing for an upcoming FIRST Impact exchange. Each team’s dedication and progress are paving the way for a successful and impactful season.
In an extraordinary display of resilience and adaptability, our robotics team turned a power outage into an opportunity for innovation and teamwork. The Construction team, undaunted by the darkness, impressively assembled the practice robot, showcasing their ability to work effectively under challenging conditions. Meanwhile, the Control Systems group remained steadfast, diligently coding for the competition robot and initiating preparations for wiring. They also made significant progress on the distance sensor interface, a crucial component for the drive team. In the realm of Business, Media, and Documentation, the team received a digital proof of the magazine from the printing company, allowing them to put the final touches on what promises to be an insightful and visually captivating publication. This day of unexpected challenges proved once again the tenacity and ingenuity of our team, illustrating that even in the dark, our collective determination continues to light the way forward.
Day 19
Day 20
As we neared the end of week three, students continued to persevere and make progress towards their goal. The Construction team pushed forward with finishing and testing the first robot. On the Control Systems side, they worked on finalizing the code for the main subsystem and testing the subsystems on the practice robot. Meanwhile, the Business, Media, and Documentation team kept busy by putting the finishing touches on their magazine and providing daily updates. Despite the challenges, we remained determined and committed to our goals.
Day 21
We can’t believe we are already halfway through this FRC Build Season! With time flying by, our students are working harder than ever to complete their tasks along with their peers! The Construction team has now began to assemble the main robot along with testing the practice robot with the Control Systems sub-team. Control Systems have been working on adjusting subsystems and testing the practice robot. All the while Business, Media, and Documentation have continued working on the magazine, providing daily updates to the website, taking photos and videos, and working on the weekly recap video!
Day 22
By day twenty-two, our students have made lots of progress as students have been working with each other to improve our robot and strategy! The Construction sub-team has continued working on machining parts for the robot and making technical design changes. Control Systems have been working with each other on subsystems and working on the practice robot. Business, Media, and Documentation students have been working on the weekly recap video along with taking photos for the website. Students made sure to film interview parts to add onto the recap video that will be posted to our YouTube channel!
