Week Two
Aloha! Welcome to the Second week of the 2025 REEFSCAPE Build Season!
Check out our Week 2 Recap on Youtube!
Day 9
It's the start of week two of Build Season and we're making steady progress. All day Control Systems worked on testing the distance sensors, LEDs, and coding; ensuring they were in top shape. Meanwhile, Construction students worked on cutting parts and building the prototype of the robot. Business media and Documentation worked on daily pictures and articles. Additionally, making safety pamphlets to hand out at upcoming competitions. We will continue to stride forward; we can't wait for what comes next!
Day 10
We’re back at it and our Subteams were hard at work! The construction team started their day by finishing up the CADing for the robot, cutting parts, and beginning the assembly process with the new parts. Meanwhile, our Control Systems worked with the younger students continuing to practice on their breadboard while our Veteran Students were blowing up additional algae for future practice with the robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation team was busy taking photos and video clips for this week of build season. With the end of the day coming to a close, we are motivated for what continues to challenge us
Day 11
We kicked off another day with a bang; each subteam getting straight to work. Control Systems used their time by testing spare electronics for the competition robot, adding AprilTags to the field, and manual commands to the code. Construction continued to make parts for the practice robot and our new and improved pit while Business, media, and documentation kept at it by documenting the day's work with photos and videos. Making steady developments, we can't wait to see the fruits of our hard work!
Day 12
It's Day 12 and we're halfway through Week 2! Our Control Systems team started their day testing devices for any spare electronics to be used, while also testing out the wiring for the robot. Meanwhile, the newer Control Systems students were testing and wiring the breadboard to understand and learn about it more. The Construction team was working hard, CADing and cutting out pieces with the water jet. The Business, Media, and Documentation team took all the photos and videos for the day while also starting to collect clips and edit our Week 2 recap video. Going into the end of the day, our team is excited for the rest of Week 2 and what it’ll bring!
Day 13
We Kick off Day 13 with a bang! Our Control Systems started the day working on the object detection system on the robot and looked over the coding to make sure it works to its fullest potential. Meanwhile, our younger students were working with the practice breadboard and the Veteran students helped quiz them on all the electronic components. The Construction subteam were busy today making parts and drilling holes into metal bars for the robot, while also assembling the robot drive train. The Business, Media, and Documentation continued editing the Week 2 Recap Video, gathering clips from the day for it, and taking photos and videos for the day. We are so close to the end of week 2 and we are motivated for what comes next for us!
Day 14
We’re back with Day 14 and our Subteams were hard at work today! The Control Systems started updating the robot’s camera tracking and testing the various spare electronics to go with it. The Construction team worked on assembling the practice robot along with the competition robot, making the parts necessary for both, cutting planks and finishing up the practice field. Meanwhile, the other Construction students were CADing more parts and are close to finishing the majority of them needed for both robots. The Business, Media, and Documentation continued to gather video clips and edit for the Week 2 Recap video, taking all the photos and videos for the day. We are very close to the end of Week 2 and we are ecstatic of what the future holds for us!
Day 15
It’s the last day of Week 2 and we are wrapping it up for build season! Our Control Systems started the day continuing to test out the camera detection tracking, tested the practice robot’s intake, and continued on the operational program for the robot. The Construction team worked hard today continuing to assemble the robot and more parts while our other Construction students troubleshooted the systems and continued improving the design of the robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation team finished up the editing for the Week 2 Recap Video and took all the photos and clips for the day. As our Week 2 of build season comes to a close, we are eagerly excited for what Week 3 will bring us! Make sure to watch our Week 2 Recap Video!
